A NEW CHAPTER | Lifestyle Grad Session Chilliwack Photographer Kim Mallory

I’ve meet some proud parents in my life, but none as proud as Marnie -Taylor’s mom who came wielding a video camera while I was shooting this Lifestyle Grad Session with Taylor and Courtney who are both graduating this year.   Rather than wait for Prom Night, Taylor and Courtney did a dry run so that we could photograph them in their Formal & Casual clothes.   It’s so much more laid back than a rushed photoshoot and we had a perfect day for it.

DR. CARIN BONDAR | Commercial Photography, Kim Mallory

Since I’ve uploaded these images to FACEBOOK I’ve been stopped in the streets by people wanting to know who the woman is that you just took photos of recently!    She is the gorgeous and talented  Dr. Carin Bondar, a local mom, and a Marine Biologist.  She is a complete package let me tell ya, and with a book coming out in May 2010 and a possible gig with the Discovery Channel, this is one lady to watch because I’m convinced she’s going places.

Best Friends Forever | Fraser Valley Tween Photographer Kim Mallory

I’m not sure what to write about for this post… As I have complained in my previous posts… I was feeling a little down about not feeling inspired and really wanting a change…   I am a hippy at heart and if I’m not out protesting, or traveling the world, I want to be doing something meaningful… and for me that could be a variety of things… being inspired helps.  That’s why I do what I do.  It’s only fun for me if I’m getting warm fuzzies…  you know?  I know you know.   Well, this shoot gave me warm fuzzies (I’m happy to report)… so it’s all good.

These are pics of my daughters Jenna & Nicole and Nicole’s BFF, who is moving this week a whole 30 minutes away and they are devastated – as 13 year olds would be.

Heather

This is my beautiful daughter – Heather.   She’s smart and funny and gorgeous and visiting from Kelowna where she is in her first year of Engineering.  She’ll be 22 in 12 days and she is as lovely as lovely gets…  She’s not happy about turning 22, but her Dad & I are thrilled that she made it through her crazy teen years and turned into such an amazing woman.  We are so proud of her and just love her to death.    She looked so pretty with her blue eyes and her cute pink hat (I love hats)   I just had to grab some shots of her when we were tubing up at Manning… it was minus 16 and for us wet coaster’s that is COLD – so we only had a few minutes!

I couldn’t decide on the colour or b&w….

Lifestyle Grad Contest Winner, Fraser Valley Grad Session

Announcing the Winner of the Lifestyle Grad Contest Pam Wilson, from Sardis Secondary.  It was a hard decision!  I had to choose from so many different personalities and grads with interests ranging from farming to acting, all with very intriguing stories!  If I had the time, I would have given away several of these sessions just to meet these grads!

Pam really reminded me of who I want my daughters to be when they grow up….  and her interests actually mirror a lot of my what my girls love to do as well. What really resonated with me too is her maturity.

Pam describes herself an outdoors person who loves to hike and she loves animals, baking, health and fitness.  She is very much into fashion (as is my daughter Nicole who we call FruFrusShuShu).   She loves music and plays the guitar.   She also believes in giving back and tries to volunteer as much as she can…  this is probably the main reason that I chose her…  I really appreciate people that are selfless and see the importance of giving back and helping others, especially at a young age.   So see,  karma does work!

We’re going to do her session at the beginning of April after I’ve returned from my holiday!  I can’t wait!  It’s going to be a blast and Pam is a beauty both inside and out, so I know the photos are going to be phenomenal.
