D-delightful
I-invasive
V-vivacious
A-attitude

A girl or woman with an exaggerated sense of self-importance. requiring a great deal of attention and excessive effort to maintain beauty, style and image.

And (I say this with a head tilt and a finger in the air)  ”We should all allow ourselves to be a diva once it awhile.  It’s part of the fun of being a girl!”   Every woman deserves to be pampered…  This is why I love The Beautiful Woman Project and shooting boudoir.. it allows us to step away from life and be glamorous for a day.   I shot these images for Diva! for use in their promotions and advertising.   I have also found Diva! to be a great place to shop if you’re planning your boudoir session.   They have amazing shoes, (I mean you will really feel like a diva with these shoes on.)… and lots of accessories including gloves, hair pieces and 50′s inspired clothes, perfect for a pin-up session.  Diva boutique is located on Mill Street, downtown Chilliwack, which has amazing shopping so you must get down there for an afternoon and check it out!

I am just starting to get back into Commercial work after making the decision not to shoot weddings any longer…  (okay, I’ll be shooting ONE wedding this year for a family friend).  But other than that, something had to give… it’s just too busy around here with other stuff and I really love Commercial Photography of interiors, as well as fashion photography and working for artist’s etc.   So word is spreading and the work is coming in, which is just great!   Here are some recent images from the Dr John Blaylock Surgical Center..  Dr. John is just the sweetest, kindest man and he has clean, state of the art facilities.   Definitely worth checking out if you need Laser Eye Surgery.

A COUNTRY GIRL | Kim Mallory Photography

I had the pleasure of shooting Kristal Barrett yesterday… she is a country singer and man is she good – and very beautiful both inside and out.  We had an amazing day and the perfect location.   Along with her video guy, Ryan from Earmark Creative we had a blast shooting this session.   Kristal will use these images on her new website and upcoming CD Cover and Music Video.

I think Kari’s was on of my first weddings when I moved into my new studio almost 6 years ago.  I didn’t have a stick of furniture…  I had JUST moved in.   I remember her and Curtis sitting on the stairs while we did our consult.  She is such a wonderful person and we’ve stayed in touch over the years.  I love her to bits.  We met for lunch last month to catch up and she volunteered for a project that was in the works with Shaw Cable, doing a story on the Beautiful Woman Project.    So we were both a little nervous during our session having a camera filming everything!!    I’ll let you all know when it airs IF I don’t look like a dork.  If I hate it, you won’t hear a thing about it ever again.  lol.  Honestly, I don’t know why I agree to do these things!

I had a super fun shoot last week working for Lolly’s, a clothing store downtown.    Our very beautiful model, Coral, was a dream to work with.  Hair by Bijou and make-up by Gwen at the Powder Room and Lois and Leslie styling,      I’m very excited about the photos and had a mini epiphany during this session .   I knew I liked fashion but I never really thought about how the clothing that someone is wearing can inspire me during a shoot.    Colours, textures, layers, shoes, accessories…  I’m in my happy place….  oh and hats… sweeeet….
